LoVetta G. Norgard, 82, 1614 Elmwood Dr, Minot, died Wednesday October 16, 2013, in a Minot nursing home.
Lovetta was born February 2, 1931, in Rugby, N.D., the daughter of Fred and Magdalena (Pietz) Widmayer. She was raised and educated in Granville, N.D., graduating from high school in Granville. She was the youngest daughter in a family of 11 children. Lovetta had 5 older sisters, 3 older brothers, and 2 younger brothers. After graduating from high school, she worked for several months at a bank in Minot before moving to Walla Walla, Washington, for 4 years. She returned to Minot, met Richard Norgard of Hartland, N.D., was married and began a family.
LoVetta and Richard were married on March 31, 1956, at Zion Lutheran Church in Minot N.D. Together they made their home in Minot and raised their children locally.
Her loving family includes: children Galen (Cindy) Norgard, Shreveport, LA., Greg (Chari) Norgard, Victoria, TX., Lori (Bob) Quesnel, Clearwater, FL, Jerry Norgard, Minot, ND.; grandchildren, Amy (Scott) Van Sickle, Oklahoma City, OK., Mark and Katie Norgard, Shreveport, LA., Kelsey and Ryan Norgard, Victoria TX., brother Gary, Granville, sisters Elsie Carlyle and Vera Kanen both of Walla Walla, WA and Adaline Lubert of California.
LoVetta was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard; her parents; infant daughter, Lee Ann Norgard; brothers, Albert, Clifford, Vernon, and Lowell; sisters, Viona Reinke and Arlene Stanton.
Funeral Service
: Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Casketbearers to include her grandsons, Ryan and Mark Norgard and nephews, Doug Norgard, Ken Reinke, Alan Widmayer and Darin Widmayer.
Interment:
Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot
Visitation:
Friday, October 25, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church, Minot or an organization of the donor\'s choice.
