Obituary

Lou Ann Carol Hauf, 73, Minot and formerly of rural Benedict died on Monday, July 15, 2013 in a Minot hospital.

Lou Ann was born on September 28, 1939 in Minot to Christ and Helga (Sundbakken) Iverson. She was reared and educated in Greatstone Township of McLean County near Benedict. As a young adult she was employed in Minot.

Lou Ann Carol Iverson married Robert Delano Hauf October 4, 1959 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Benedict, ND. Together they lived in Sawyer on the family farm until they moved to Minot in 1991.
LouAnn was a devoted wife and mother of six children. She managed the household while Robert farmed the land and raised cattle. She was amazingly resourceful and handy able to sew anything, cook fantastic meals and tend to the home repairs whenever needed. She exemplified hard work and integrity.
She was a picture of strength and was iron-willed. Even though she was such a determined and hardworking lady, she loved to spend time with others. Friends and family flocked to the house to socialize and enjoy home-cooked meals. She cared deeply for her friends, family and everyone else she met because she never met a stranger. LouAnn made it her mission to stay attuned to what was happening in everyone's lives so she could be there if any ever needed her help or support.
Though we will miss this remarkable woman in our lives, we have comfort in knowing that she is in heaven with our Heavenly Father and has been reunited with loved ones gone before. Her memory will continue to live on forever in all our hearts.
LouAnn's loving family includes her children: Michael (Colleen) Hauf of Minot, Roger (Joanne Johnson) Hauf of Aurora CO, Denise Hauf of Minot and Cheryl Hauf-Beach (Brad Beach) of Rapid City SD; grandchildren: Christopher, Amanda, Andrea, Mari, Danielle, stepgranddaughter: Amber Johnson, Lance Hauf Boschee, Nicholas Hauf Baumgartner, Shawn Hauf; and five great grandchildren; siblings: Clifton (Willie) Iverson of Rolling Heights CA, Arvid (Helen) Iverson of Hot Springs SD, Warren (Merlyn) Iverson of Max and Harriet Krenz of Minot; half-brother: Palmer (Sylvia) Iverson of Minot and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
