Lorraine Sphar, 96, Velva, formerly of Silver Lake, Oregon, died Friday, September 29, 2023 in a Minot hospital.

Lorraine was a High School graduate of Medford Oregon. She was raised on a farm doing many chores with her dad, Louie Blaess, her fondest memories were with him and the horses. She had a horse named Smokey she dearly loved.

Lorraine married James H Sphar and eventually settled in Silver Lake, Oregon. Where they lived until Jim's death in 1987. Lorraine continued to live there until 2021, when she moved to Minot, North Dakota and was closer to her granddaughter, and son who also relocated to Minot.

She is survived by two sons, John H. Sphar & Jackie Sphar of Medford, OR and Steve J. Sphar & Cathie Sphar of Minot, ND; four grandchildren: Shelly Swalls of Kentucky, Athena Mort of North Dakota, John Sphar of California and Jacob Sphar (preceded in death 1988); great grandchildren, Gabriel (Gabby) Swalls, Rowdy Sphar and Charley Sphar.

Lorraine lived a very long life and did many things, loved her work for the Forestry Service in Oregon she retired from.

She is at peace now in Jehovah God's memory and soon will be made young again and be with her loved ones.
