Loraine J. Schlecht, 75, Minot, ND died Sunday, November 27, 2011, in a McVille, ND hospital.

Loraine was born February 29, 1936, in Minot, ND the daughter of Leonard and Linda (Brusven) VanErp. She was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1954.

Loraine was united in marriage to Herbert Schlecht on December 30, 1955 in Sawyer, ND. They made their home on a farm in Newman Township of Ward County for forty-eight years. Over the years, she was employed by Mon-Dak Janitorial Service performing janitorial services to Home of Economy and Warner Construction for many years.

Loraine was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Sawyer, ND and its ladies aide group. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who shared in her life.

Loving family includes: Children, Michael (Lynette) Schlecht, Minot, ND, Janet (Bill) Matus, Cedar Rapids, IA, Doug (Cheryl) Schlecht, Albuquerque, NM and Diane Schlecht, Minot; Seven grandchildren; half- sister, Mary Lou (Tom) Hauf, Max, ND and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Loraine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Herbert and daughter, Carol.

Graveside Service: Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 1:15 p.m. at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

A private family visitation was held.

Memorials are preferred to an organization of the donor's choice.
