Lorraine Bernice Pfeifer , 84, Minot, died Friday, October 10, 2014 in a Minot Hospital.

Lorraine was born March 25, 1930 on the family farm near Pickardville, North Dakota the daughter of Roy and Mathilda (Metz) Just. She was raised and educated at Pickardville and assisted with the operation of the family farm until she was 18 years old. She then assisted a local farmer as caretaker, until returning to Pickardville to marry Arnold Pfeifer on January 13, 1950.

They made their home in Bismarck, where they lived until 1954, when they moved to Velva and later Minot in 1957. Along with raising their four daughters, she was employed as a cook at the Lantern. She also worked as a nurses aide at the Bottineau Hospital while living at their lake home at Lake Metigoshe for 15 years.

Lorraine was a member of the Lutheran Faith. She was also a member of the Good Sam RV Club. She enjoyed cooking for her family, crafts, bowling, camping and writing to her pen pals.

Her loving family includes, husband, Arnold, Minot; children, Brenda (Tom) Rogers, Superior, WI, Bernice (Alan) Johnson, Bismarck, ND, Bertha Pfeifer, Elko, Nevada and Beverly Pfeifer ( Tim Hansen), Minot. ND; 10 grandchildren and Spouse to include: Evangline Andrews (preceded in death) , Christopher Heringer, Michael (Kristy) Andrews, Tessa (Rick) Carman, Corey (Nicole) Heringer, David (Mindi) Johnson, Stephanie (David) Dillon, Candace Heringer, Derek Loper, Justin (Melissa) Loper, Steven Loper ; 17 great grandchildren to include; Alexa Mescia, Tyler Heringer, Jude Hintz, Elijah Deane, Erika Dillon, Ian Deane, Kaden Rundall, Skyler Carman, Jordan Andrews, Ty Carman, Matthew Dillon, Zachary Dillon, Avianna Heringer, Elizabeth Heringer, Teagen Loper, Ryan Andrews and Griffin Andrews ( due date February 5, 2015). And brother, Roy Allen (Rosemary) Just, Camden, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, sister ( Adelaine) and grandchild, Evangeline Andrews.

Funeral service : 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment: McClusky Community Cemetery, McClusky, ND at a later date.
Visitation : one hour prior the service at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
