Obituary

Loretta Vivier, 73, Minot, died Monday, October 16, 2017 in a Minot nursing home.

Loretta May was born on April 15, 1944 in Belcourt to John and Bernice (LaCompte) Henry. She attended Belcourt High School. She enrolled in United Tribes Technical Collage of Bismarck. It was from UTTC that she obtained a degree in Licensed Practical Nursing.

In 1984 Loretta moved to Wolf Point, MT, where she worked at Faith Lutheran Home for the next 18 years. Loretta moved from Wolf Point to Garrison in 2001. She continued her passion of nursing at Garrison nursing homes and as a traveling nurse in the area, and then in the Minot area when she moved in 2004. Ill health forced her into retirement in 2005.

Loretta's loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling, playing Bingo and going to rummage sales.

Loretta is survived by her children, Nova (Steve Desjarlais) Vivier, Haltom City, TX, Larry Vivier Jr., Minot and Richard (Tina) Vivier, Eagle Butte, SD; a number of grandchildren that include Dawn Vivier and Kyle Vivier and a number of great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Summers, Joyce Camrud, Brenda Henry, Doraldine Henry and Vivian Keplin; brothers, James, John, Melvin, Patrick, Mike and Ted Henry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Vivier Sr; sons, Sandy and Michael Vivier and brother, Brian Henry.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

A service will be held at a date/time to be determined in Dunseith, ND.
