Lorene Gerhart, 88, Minot died on January 23, 2021 in Lake Havasu City, AZ with her children by her side.
Lambert Gerhart, 89, Minot died on May 25, 2020 in Lake Havasu City, AZ with his children by his side.
Lorene was born on March 25, 1932 in Dunn Center, ND to Wallace and Ida (Iverson) Kling. She was raised on a farm near Dunn Center, graduated from Dunn Center High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Dickinson State University.
Lambert was born on September 17, 1930 in Halliday, ND to Joseph and Josephine (Feigel) Gerhart. He was raised in Halliday, ND and attended Dunn Center High School. As a young adult he was employed at his father's Studebaker automobile dealership.
Lorene and Lambert were united in marriage on January 16, 1951 in Dodge, ND and made their home in Halliday, California, New Town, and Minot where Lorene was a school teacher and Lambert was a civil service employee at the Minot Air Force Base. Lorene spent a majority of her career teaching first grade at North Hill (now Lewis and Clark) Elementary School in Minot.
Lambert and Lorene were the proud parents of four children and especially enjoyed spending time during the summer months at their cabin on Lake Sakakawea with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They enjoyed the winter months in Lake Havasu City, Arizona for many years.
Lorene had a green thumb and loved the feel of dirt under her fingernails. She could not pass up an opportunity to add to the numerous flowers in her beautiful garden. Also, she loved birds and every spring would put out countless bird houses and pounds of bird seed. She was very artistic and enjoyed doing crafts and cooking for family and friends.
Lambert was a very loving and devoted father and husband who worked tirelessly so that his family could have an education and learn the value of working hard and accomplishing goals. Lambert was an expert body repairman and had a lifelong interest in classic automobiles and Ford Mustangs. He loved spending time with his family and friends and always was willing to help others when needed.
Lorene and Lambert loved taking their family on annual vacations and traveled to every state in the U.S. as well as to Canada, Mexico and Europe.
Lorene and Lambert are survived by their four children: Debra (Tom) Hunter of Minot, Susan (Robert) Krasnican of Ozawakie KS, Terri Gerhart of Minot and Jeff (Betsy) Gerhart of Garrison; grandchildren: Anna (Ryan) Schneider, Devin Hunter, Kari Krasnican and Mitchell Krasnican; great grandchildren: Sailor and River Schneider and Tyler and Rylan Jansen; Lorene is also survived by her brothers: Harlin (Marie) Kling, Arlis Kling and Roger Kling. Lambert is also survived by his sisters-in-law: Helen, Cecilia and Thelda Gerhart and his dear friend Tim Klimpel.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters: Wilma Lavin and Gayle Kling and brother, Gary Kling. Lambert was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lorraine Haas, and brothers: Jerome, Richard and Robert Gerhart.
Graveside Service for Lorene and Lambert Gerhart: June 1, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Section 41 of Rosehill Memorial Park – Minot. A blue tent will mark the location of the graveside service.
