Obituary

Loren D. Hanson, 62, 915 20th Ave. NW, Minot, died Saturday, September 30, 2006, in a Minot hospital.

Loren was born June 12, 1944, in Woodworth, ND, to Ernest and Marsella (Subart) Hanson. He was raised and educated in Robinson, ND, where he would graduate from high school in 1962. He attended college at Interstate Business College of Fargo, earning a business degree in 1964.

Loren was united in marriage to Arletta Hetletved on June 15, 1965, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Robinson. They made their home in Devils Lake, where he was employed as office manager at Ramsey Motors.

Loren was drafted into the United States Army on November 16, 1966. He served his country honorably in the Vietnam Era and was honorably discharged on November 15, 1968.

Following service to his country, they moved to Minot in January of 1970. He earned employment with Fisher Motors, starting in its original location, as Office Manager and continued his employment for almost 36 years, until his death. He absolutely loved his job and those he worked with over the years.

Loren was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Minot. He led an active lifestyle, supporting his boys through their years of sports, especially in their love of hockey and baseball. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, taking frequent trips everywhere, and even completed a day of the CANDISC in 2006. Yet, nothing could come close to the love of spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. They became his passion over the last few years as he watched them grow. Loren will be missed by all those who shared in his life.

He is survived by: Loving wife of 41 years: Arletta, Minot; Sons: Wyatt (Becky) Hanson - Bismarck, ND, Craig (Heather) Hanson, Bismarck, ND, and Mike Hanson - Omaha, NE; Grandchildren: Paige and Averie Hanson, and Brycen Hanson; Brothers: Gene Hanson, Phoenix, AZ, Danny (Sharlowe) Hanson, Robinson, ND, and Robert (Rosemary) Hanson, Wing, ND; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Marlowe Hanson.
