Obituary

Loralee (Modrow, Waltzer) Hintz, 72, of Minot and formerly of Rugby and Devils Lake died on December 24, 2022, in a Minot hospital with her loving family at her side.

Loralee Renae was born on November 8, 1950, in Rugby, ND to Marvin and Naomi (Brown) Modrow.  She was raised and educated in Rugby and Devils Lake where she moved with her family in 1967.  She graduated from Devils Lake High School in 1968.  She continued her education at Lake Region Junior College and eventually graduated from Minot State University with a degree in accounting.

As a mother, Loralee worked very hard to care for her growing children.  She supported them as best she could through various jobs including being a waitress at Joventés Restaurant, seamstress at Bray's Cleaners and hotel night accountant. While working and caring for her four children, she also was able to attain her degree at MSU that led to her employment as a payroll accountant at Brady Martz.

Loralee was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1971 and remained active in her faith until her death.  She always passionately cared for her family, friends and even strangers by combining her skills and interest in hosting, cooking, sewing and music. Loralee married Clifford Hintz on September 24, 2004, in Minot.  They continued to reside in Minot where Loralee retired from Brady Martz in 2014.  Together they enjoyed gardening, camping, hiking, fishing & travel.

Loralee's loving family includes husband of 18 years, Cliff; children from a previous marriage to Larry Waltzer:  Jared (Katrina) Waltzer of Minot; Jason Waltzer of Woodinville WA; Sarah (Travis) Sponsel of Bottineau; Jonathan (Aimee) Waltzer of Naples FL; Siblings: Fredric (Jackie) Modrow of Kennewick WA and Marcia Larson of Berthoud CO; sisters-in-law: Linda Modrow of Woodbury MN and Jeanette Modrow of Helena MT and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Loralee was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Marlan and Robert Modrow and brother-in-law Roger Larson.
