Obituary

Lois Jean Banna, 90, Minot died on Sunday, August 13, 2017 in her home surrounded by her family.

Lois was born on February 3, 1927 in Ferndale, Michigan to Theodore and Clara (Roggenbuck) Bly. After her mother's death on February 06, 1927, she lived with her aunt and uncle Matilda and John Schmitz near Foxholm. She graduated from Foxholm High School in 1944.

Lois married Burton Moe on November 10, 1945 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Foxholm. They had two daughters Janice and Beverly. Burton died in 1954. Lois later married Monver Banna on January 16, 1956. They had three children: James, Vicki and Jerald. Monty died in 2012. She retired from Kmart after 22 years of service as a department manager and became the babysitter of her grandchildren. She was a kind hearted and giving person who always put others before herself. She had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Lois was a member of St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, its Confraternity of Christian Mothers and the American Legion Auxiliary. She especially enjoyed WII bowling with her grandchildren.

Lois' loving family includes her children: James (Mary) Banna of Webster NY, Vicki Ahmann of Minot, Jerry Banna of Minot, Janice (John) Motter of Ashland Ohio and Bev (Allen) Haykel of Rio Rancho NM; grandchildren: Samantha, Zachary and Alex Ahmann, Chase and Allison Banna, Jerald Jr. and David Banna and Mark and Brian Motter; great grandchildren: Kodi Motter and Krysta Motter and great great grandchild: Aidan Motter and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and siblings: Robert Schmitz, Alice Gerle and Ted, Allen and Roger Bly.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at St John's Catholic Church.
