Obituary

Lloyd Wold, 92, Minot and former longtime South Prairie farmer died on Monday, September 24, 2012 in a Minot hospital.

Lloyd was born on September 2, 1920 in Torning Township of Ward County south of Minot to Odin and Anna (Nybakken) Wold. He was reared and educated on the family farm and attended rural schools in that area. As a young adult he assisted his family with the operation of the farm.

Lloyd was united in marriage to Pauline J. Geiser on January 30, 1945 at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot. They made their home on the family farm where they raised small grains and Angus cattle. He retired in 1984, but had continued to assist with the operation of the farm until 1992 when they moved to Minot. Pauline died on March 15, 2006.

Lloyd was currently a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was a former member of Fron Lutheran Church south west of Minot where he served as a trustee and usher. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and served on the Torning Township Board. Lloyd enjoyed bowling, square dancing, traveling and baseball. Most recently, he enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together, some two or three times.

Lloyd is survived by his sons: Keith (Pam) Wold and Eldon (Deb) Wold all of Minot; grandchildren: Trisha (Todd) Koop, Jayden (Heather) Wold and Brian Wold all of Minot and Krista (Mike) Downs of Cincinnati Ohio; great grandchildren: Bailee and Jacee Koop, Cory and RaeAnn Downs, Jacksen Wold and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son: Bruce, sisters: Tina Talbott, Ida Wold, Signa Duplesis, Olga Wold, and Amanda Lenton and brothers: Rolf, William and Arndt.

Celebration of the Life of Lloyd Wold : Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church - Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation : Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund.
