Lloyd Edward Boppre, 83, Minot died on Thursday, May 22, 2014 in a Minot nursing home.

Lloyd was born on December 22, 1930 in Picton Township of Towner County near Hansboro, ND to Clarence and Mary Louise (Bercier) Boppre. He was reared on the family farm and attended a country school in that area. As a young adult he was employed by area farmers. Lloyd enlisted in the U.S. Army on October 10, 1951 and served until his honorable discharge on September 3, 1953. He returned to North Dakota where he was employed by the Great Northern Railroad in the Williston area for a short time prior to beginning his career as a sheet metal worker in Williston and Montana.

Lloyd married Sharon Rice on October 7, 1957 in Havre, MT. They made their home in Minot where he was employed as a sheet metal worker by Harvey Enterprises, Western Sheet Metal and Mowbray Plumbing and Heating until he established Lloyd's Sheet Metal which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1988. Following his retirement he continued to make his home in Minot, most recently at Trinity Homes.

Lloyd was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion and Moose Lodge all in Minot. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking, but most of all he enjoyed summer weekends with his family at Lake Sakakawea and playing cards with family and friends.

Lloyd's loving family includes his wife of 56 years Sharon; children: Greg (Jeanne) Boppre of East Grand Forks MN, Audrey (David) Knutson of Circle Pines MN, Darryl Boppre of Fridley MN, Brian (Deb) Boppre and Shelly (Ron) DeMers all of Minot; grandchildren: Jason, Patrick and Janelle Boppre, Nichole and Stefan (Jodi) Knutson, Chris Boppre and Jordan (Sean) Poppen, Phil Boppre, Mandy (Justin) Burgess, Zac and Luke DeMers; great grandchildren: Kaia Boppre, Leni and Graham Knutson, Jersy, Madux and Jaxyn Burgess; siblings: Gladys (John) Schultz of Billings, MT, Helen Guderjohn of Malta, MT, Bernice Boppre of Bottineau and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister: Doreen and brothers: Eugene and Raymond and an infant grandson, Kevin Boppre.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church - Minot.
Vigil Prayer Service: Monday, May 26, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot
Visitation: Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or to Relay-For-Life Cancer Foundation.
