Lisa Eriksmoen, 57, Minot was called home on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in a Minot healthcare center following a battle with cancer surrounded by her family.

Lisa was born on July 29, 1959 in Minot to Gary and Louise (Harkness) Eriksmoen. She was reared and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1977. She continued her education at UND where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work in 1981 and a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling in 1985.

Her employment history included three years in Harvey as an employee of the Lonetree Special Education District. After graduate school, she was a member of a Title 19 Regulations Screening Team for Devils Lake and Grafton. She moved to Bismarck where she continued in a similar capacity with Certification Teams for the North Dakota Department of Health.

Lisa returned to her hometown of Minot in 1991 where she was employed at Minot State University for 25 years. She held several positions but ended her time at MSU as Director of Student Wellness and Development. In 2013, Lisa was awarded Vision 2013 Merit Award. For 17 years, Lisa served as the Team advisor for the MSU Hockey Team. She had passion for having a great Team on and off the ice. She cared about and for the Team and it was evident in her dedication to MSU Hockey. When returning to Minot in 1991, she became employed at the Minot YMCA, teaching water aerobics.

Lisa was involved with the Minot Optimist Club serving as President and as Lt. Governor of the District. She was awarded the Distinguished President award for her time as President for 2014/2015. She was involved in the Minot Eagles Auxiliary. Lisa volunteered with the Junior Achievement Program. She was a board member for Domestic Violence Crisis Center in Minot. For more than 20 years she served on the Human Rights Committee for Kalix. Lisa was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. Lisa made all her own greeting cards and scrapbooks which are treasure by those who received them. She enjoyed her card making and scrapbooking groups. She loved photography and photography club allowed her to develop her skills.

Lisa is survived by her parents: Gary and Louise Eriksmoen of Minot; siblings: Brian (Kim) Eriksmoen of Sherwood, Diane Eriksmoen, Jennifer Eriksmoen and Tracey (Dan) Olson all of Minot; nieces, Amy (Jason) Bohannan, Memphis, TN, Jody (Mike) Weigel, Lincoln, ND; nephews, Jason (Wendy) Eriksmoen, Bismarck, ND, and Charles Eriksmoen, Sherwood ND; great nephews, Slade and Dax Bohannan, Devin and Mason Weigel, Nickolis and Bowden Eriksmoen; great neieces, Bayla Weigel, Alexis, Allie, and Emmalee Eriksmoen; extended family, Natalie Wade, Kathy (Jim) McCormack, Chaya (Thomas) McCormack, Rosalie Wade, Jeremy and Jaclyn Woolard; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Lisa had many friends from school age, life-long friends to friends she made throughout her life. If you were a friend of Lisa\'s, so was your family! She loved you all! She loved a lot of children in her life and was always there to mentor and encourage; and she was proud of her God children, Joseph Haroldson, Amy Bohannan, and Bowden Eriksmoen. Special family to Lisa, Sheldon and Becky Schneider and their children, Stella, Scarlett, and Dean. You brought a special light into her life.

Lisa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Christine Eriksmoen, Cora Spradling, Elmer and Eva Harkness

Celebration Of Life For Lisa Eriksmoen: 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2016, at Faith United Methodist Church - Minot.
Interment will be in the Union Cemetery of Sherwood, ND at a date to be announced.
Visitation: Sunday, December 18, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to MSU Hockey, Minot Optimist Club, Second Story of Minot or to an organization of the donor's choice.
