Lilly Miller Bakken , 97, Minot, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2008 in a Minot Nursing Home.
Lilly was born February 9, 1911 at Minot, North Dakota, the daughter of Hans C. and Vollie (Westphal) Hansen. She was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School. She was united in marriage to Virgil M. Miller on February 9, 1929 at Minot. They made their home in Minot, where along with raising their children, she was employed at Mac's Donuts and Minot State College. Virgil died in 1968.
Lilly married Andy Bakken on February 17, 1973 at Minot. They made their home in Minot. Andy died in 1986.
Lilly was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Minot, the Women of the Moose, and was a former member of Augustana Lutheran Church, Minot. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling and had participated in bowling leagues.
Lilly's loving family includes : Daughters: Bonnie Lyon and Gloria (James) West both of Minot; Daughter in law: Dorothy Miller, Minot; Step Daughter: Mavis Bakken, Maple Grove, MN. Grandchildren: Michael (Joan) Lyon, Nancy (John) Holland, Shelley (Dean) Atkinson, Lori (Andrew) Olson, Jo (Neil) Scharpe, Kristy (Terry) Fleck, Penny Miller (Doug Mattson), Ronda (Ron) Speed, Jeffrey (Judy) Taylor and Bradley (Barbara) Taylor: Great Grandchildren: Max, McCall, Millie, John Marshall, Zoe, Hudson, and Chelsea Taylor, Ronnie Speed, Tami and John Robert Lyon, Sheri, Robert, and Michael Hesch, Whitney and Jessie Atkinson, Emily and August Olson, Jason, Blake, Paul and David Scharpe and Leif Mattson; Great-Great-grandchildren: Jonathan Hesch and Connor Scharpe.
Lilly was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, son, Virgil and son-in-law: Robert.

: Monday, March 3, 2008 at 1:00pm in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment
: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation:
Sunday from noon-5:00pm in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
