Obituary

Lillian Mabel Ronnie , 91, 706 16th Ave SE, Minot, died Tuesday, August 1, 2006 inMinot.

Lillian was born on January 23, 1915, in the McKinley Township of Ward County near Minot, ND, to Andrew and Lydia (Bertling) Anderson. She attended McKinley Township schools and graduated from Minot High School in 1933. She received her Standard Teaching Certificate in 1939 from Minot State Teachers College and enjoyed teaching many students for in the eight years in Ward County rural schools.

Lillian and Lawrence Larson were married in 1940 and lived on their farm north of Minot until Lawrence died in 1943. After that Lillian was employed as a sales clerk at Ellison Department Store in Minot until she and her children moved to Seattle, WA in 1945. She was proud of her time working there as a in welding department of the Todd Shipyard. After the war, she worked as a sales clerk for Nordstrom Department Store and as an office clerk at Sunset Electric. In 1947, she returned to Minot and to teaching at McHenry County schools for two years.

Lillian returned to the family farm near Surrey and worked as a sales clerk at Montgomery Wards' and as a teacher at Lincoln Elementary and Ramstad Junior High School. She returned to Minot State College and graduated with a bachelors degree in 1967.

Lillian married Robert (Bob) Fillmore in 1968 and they made their home in Bismarck. After Bob's death in 1974, she worked as a sales clerk for Lucas Department Store until retiring in 1976. She returned to Minot in 1978 and began to spend the winter months in Mesa, Arizona. Lillian married Gehard Ronnie in January 1979 in Minot. Gehard died in 1992.

Lillian was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, McKinley Township 4-11 and Starlight Homemakers Club, Farmers Union, PTA, Business and Professional Women's Organization.

She enjoyed big family dinners, being an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, taking pictures, sharing stories, visiting with her friends, spending time with all of her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, walking everyday, and playing cards.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Arlen & DeAnn Larson of Port Orchard, WA, eight grandchildren, Scott, Todd and Brian Larson; James, Phillip and John McLaughlin; Ann Walker and Katrina Perciful, fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, especially Kay and Dale Mattern; Susan and Dan Hager; and Keith and Pat White.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Lawrence Larson, Robert Fillmore, Gehard Ronnie, daughter, Bonnie Jean McLaughlin, brothers, Jesse, Lloyd, Clarence, Leon and sisters: Edna Rearick, Myrtle Stokke and Maren White; and many of her dear friends.

Funeral: Saturday, August 5, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church - Minot;
Interment: Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Surrey;
Visitation: Friday from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot;
