Lillian Elinora Carlson, 77, Minot, passed away peacefully Monday, October 19, 2015, in a Minot hospital with her family by her side.
Lillian was born March 19, 1938, in Minot to Lawrence and Esther (Tveter) Holen. She was reared in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1956. As a young adult she was employed as a waitress at various Minot restaurants including The Igloo and Joe's.
Lillian married Verlane Carlson July 14, 1956 at First Lutheran Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot and were blessed with two daughters, Debbie and Sandy. Lillian was employed for thirty-five years at Trinity Nursing Home until her retirement in 2000.
Lillian was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church, Minot. The outdoors was a large part of Lillian's life and she enjoyed camping and fishing, most often out of Brendle's Bay of Lake Sakakawea. She was an outstanding pool player often placing in tournaments and was a member of several state championship teams. Also, she enjoyed bowling and baking and found the time to shop on a regular basis so her attire always matched from head to toe.
Family was very important to Lillian. She cherished every single moment with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a great mother and grandmother and the 'Rock' of our family. We will always love and miss her.
Lillian's loving family includes her husband of 59 years, Verlane, Minot; daughters, Debbie (Dan) Meschke and Sandy (Perry) Getzlaff, all of Minot; grandchildren, Jodi (Justin) Dauphinais, Portland, OR, Jason (Theresa) Getzlaff, Bismarck, ND, Jen (Paul) Dalen, Minot, Tyler Meschke (fianc FaLynn Reiswig) and Heather Meschke, Minot; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Paige and Harper Dauphinais, all of Portland, OR, Colton Meschke, Aleah Meschke Jones, Jordyn Meschke, Gavin Edmund and Caralina Edmund, all of Minot; siblings: Myrna (Joe) Gavett, Tacoma, WA, Marie Feickert, Spearfish, SD and Dwight (Judy) Holen, Las Vegas, NV and several nieces and nephews.
