IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lila Ann
Beck
January 26, 1943 – January 7, 2019
Lila Ann Beck , 75, Minot, formerly of Sawyer, died Monday, January 7, 2019 in a Minot hospital.
Lila was born January 26, 1943 in Minot, ND to Lloyd and Theresa (Hennessey) Hansen. She was raised in Minot. When she was just thirteen years old, her father, Lloyd, died and left her and her siblings with their Mom. Out of necessity the family moved to Mooseheart, Illinois where she finished her education through High School at Mooseheart. She returned to Minot and received a two-year degree at Minot Business College. She began employment at North Hill Bowl Café as a waitress.
She was once married to Arnold Beck. Together on the Sawyer Ranch they raised three sons. While in Sawyer, she was a cook at the high school. She moved to Minot in 1991.
Lila was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot, where she enjoyed volunteering in the soup kitchen. Lila had a gift for baking and her baked goods were well known, shared with family and friends for many varied occasions. She was especially fond of angels, the colors purple and blue. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren brought much joy and were all cherished. Lila will be missed by all who shared in her life. The Mother Bear Project filled Lila's heart with joy, as she devoted many hours making bears that would bring comfort to the less fortunate, locally and abroad. A sense of humor was a commonly shared trait with Lila, her siblings, children, grandchildren and friends.
Lila's loving family includes her sons, Bruce Beck, Mandan, Bryce (Terri) Beck, Minot and Bryant (Megan) Beck, Minot; granddaughters, Kesha (Blake) Prado, Mandan, Sydney, Skylar and Skotti Beck, Minot, Shawnteya Beck, Edmond, OK and Alexia Beck of Oklahoma City, OK; special great granddaughter, Jetleigh Prado; siblings, DeLaine Harold, Vancouver, WA, Lyle (Debra) Hansen, San Jose, CA, Meredith (Lynn) Goodwin, Vancouver, WA, Lugene (Bryan Harold) Paprocki, Vancouver, WA, two god-daughters; Natalie and Stephanie Harold and numerous nieces and nephews.
