Les Martz, 55, Aberdeen, SD, died May 14, 2012 at his home.

Les Charles Martz, son of Baldwin E. and Shirley (Hubbard) Martz was born February 24, 1957 in Minot, ND. Les earned a general from the University of Minnesota. Les was very interested in business and the stock market and spent most of his active business life as a stock broker and trader in Minneapolis. In addition to his business career, Les was a very talented musician who played both guitar and bass guitar. He was a member of several rock and jazz bands for which he played, sang, and wrote music. When forced by his illness to retire, he moved to Hawaii where he resided for two years, and then to Aberdeen where he spent the remainder of his life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and his parents will welcome him into Heaven.

He is survived by three sisters, Steffany Martz of New York, NY, Marilyn Foss of Bismarck, ND and Lissa (Mark) Rurik of Edina, MN.

His parents and one brother, John preceded him in death.

Memorial service will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory, 1708 8th Ave. NE, Aberdeen, SD.

Burial will be in Rosehill Memorial Park in Minot, ND, at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012.
