LeRoy Henry Lindekugel, 94, Minot, formerly of Bottineau, died Monday, November 6, 2017 at his home with his wife by his side.
LeRoy was born September 22, 1923 at Robinson, North Dakota, the youngest of five children to Edwin and Mathilda (Schnorr) Lindekugel. He was raised on a farm south of Robinson and educated at country schools near there. He graduated from Robinson High School in 1942. He attended a commercial college in Bismarck, prior to enlisting with the U.S. Navy in 1942. He served his country during World War II and received his honorable discharge in 1945. He was awarded the American Area Campaign Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal.
He returned to North Dakota and attended Commercial College in Bismarck, where he met and married Marion Giegle. They farmed near Robinson for a short time before attending watchmaking school in Independence, MO and he became a certified master watchmaker. They returned to Steele, ND, where they raised four children and established Linde's Jewelry. In 1965, they moved to Bottineau, where he bought a jewelry store and renamed in Linde's Jewelry.
LeRoy's son, Doug assumed ownership of the store in 1987, where LeRoy continued to work until 1992, when he moved to Minot. LeRoy was united in marriage to Carol Flory on March 27, 1998 in Minot. After moving to Minot, he opened Father Time's Watch Repair business, which he operated until the flood of 2011, when he moved the business to his home. LeRoy was proud to have traveled with the Roughrider Honor Flight to Washington DC in 2010.
LeRoy was a member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene, Minot; was a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the ND Watchmakers Association, U.S. Oralogical Association, lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and VFW Post. He was also a member of the Minot Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and playing board games.
LeRoy's family includes , wife, Carol and her family of Minot; children, Myna Peterson, Wheaton, IL and her sons, Bret & Chad; Doug (Carol) Lindekugel, Bottineau, ND and their daughters Mia & Jill; Dale Lindekugel, Spokane, WA and his son, Henry and daughter, Emma; other grandchildren to include, Brock and Katie; daughter in law, Martha Lindekugel, Minot; 11 great grandchildren; several step-children and step grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, son, Donn; son in law, Alan Peterson; brothers, Leslie and Ed and sisters, Evelyn and Hazel.

Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Southside Church of the Nazarene, Minot
Interment:
The Veteran's Section of Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
Visitation:
Sunday, November 12th from 1:00-4:00 p.m
