Leona A. Wentz, 85, Minot, formerly of Stanley, died Sunday, January 24, 2010 in a Minot Nursing Home.

Leona was born February 18, 1924 at Stanley, North Dakota, the daughter of Gurden and Else (Schneider) Wentz. She was raised by her mother and maternal grandparents, Christian and Marie Schneider on a farm Southwest of Donnybrook. She graduated from Stanley High School.

Leona and Else moved to Minot in the late 1930's and she was employed with Kresge's Department Store, where she was employed as a clerk for a number of years. She entered Trinity Nursing Home in March of 2003.

Leona enjoyed reading novels, knitting and crocheting, along with traveling throughout the United States and Canada. Every spring, Leona enjoyed spending time in her garden, tending to her tomatoes, vegetables and flowers throughout the summer.

Funeral service : Monday, February 1, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. in Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Sunday from 1:00-4:00pm in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
