Leona V. Scofield - Kohler, 89, Minot, died Saturday, March 2, 2019 in a Minot hospital.
Leona was born in Russell, ND, the daughter of Rudolph and Freda (Wenzel) Feller. She called Russell home until the age of six when she moved with her family to Kramer, ND.
Leona was married to Vernon "Swede" Scofield on January 16, 1951. They made their home in Minot and had five wonderful children: Darrel, Steve, Don, Shar, and Mike. They had a good life until Swede passed away on November 29, 1977 at the age of 49 of a heart condition.
Leona married Hank Kohler on February 16, 1985. They enjoyed a good life until Hank passed away on January 13, 1989 of cancer.
She continued to live in Minot in her own home and enjoyed a special companionship with Fritz Buerkle for 20 years until his death. Leona spent her final years from September 2013 at Edgewood Vista where she found great comfort and was well cared for.
She is survived by: her brother: Don (Mary) Feller, her children: Darrel (Joan) Scofield, Steven (Karen) Scofield, Donald (Nancy) Scofield, Mike (Leslie) Scofield, and Shar Scofield (Sean Perry), 10 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: brothers Arnie, Melvin, and sister, Irene.
A private service was held at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
