IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leo Keith
Gleason
April 9, 1951 – May 18, 2019
Leo Gleason, 68, Minot, died Saturday, May 19, 2019 in a Minot hospital.
Leo was born April 9, 1951 in Minot, North Dakota to Leo and Eleanor (Storbeck) Gleason. He was raised in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1969. He also attended the MedCenter One School of Nursing in 1995.
Leo was a jack of all trades during his lifetime. He hauled water for Crystal Springs during his youth. He worked for Ward County as a dispatcher as a young adult but also spent time as a law enforcement officer with the sheriff's office. He served the community of Granville as their Chief of Police during his career in law enforcement. Falkirk Mine claimed some years in Leo's working days along with many miles spent as an over the road truckdriver. He finished his working days behind the wheel of a school bus, serving the school districts of Nedrose and Max until he retired.
It was not all work and no play for Leo. He enjoyed karaoke and had no fear of getting up front to sing. He was often found enjoying concerts, music festivals, food and an occasional cocktail. Fishing and camping were high on his list of summer activities as well as a dip in the lake. He enjoyed working on cars and often took the time to go on a country drive. He loved to visit with everyone he met over a good cup coffee. But, all things, in his life took a backseat to his grandkids, whom he adored and loved with all his heart. He will be missed by all who shared in his life.
Leo is survived by his daughters Michelle (Josh), Angela (Andrew) and Gloria (Scott); grandchildren MacKenzie, Michael, Marcus, Hunter, Kiera, Tatum, Johnny, Piper and Lilia; sisters Rhonda Kay Bjertness and Rebecca Karlene Gleason.
Leo was preceded in death by parents, sister Rochell Kim Miles Gleason, brother Lowell Kent Gleason and a niece Heather Clarice Gleason.
Celebration of Leo's Life: 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the Roosevelt Park Band Shell in Minot.
