Lena Myrtle Heere, 96, Minot died on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Trinity Homes with her loving family by her side.

Lena was born on June 21, 1920 near Corinth, North Dakota to Iver and Johanna (Linner) Sateran. She was reared on a farm near Corinth, educated at a rural school and graduated from Alamo High School in 1938. She continued her education at Dickinson State College. As a young adult she was employed at the Dickinson Hospital as a nurse's aide and Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Williston.

Lena married Melvin Heere on December 28, 1945 in Minot. They made their home in Minot where she was a fulltime wife, mother and homemaker. She had been a resident of Trinity Homes since October of 2016.

Lena was a member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church and the United Presbyterian Women. She volunteered for the American Red Cross, Shrine Circus and at the John Moses Regional Air Force/V.A. Hospital. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and gardening, especially flowers.

Lena's loving family includes her husband of 71 years Melvin Heere, Minot; children: Gary (Pam) Heere, Redmond, OR; Patricia (Fred) Andruchuk, Manchester, NH; Glen Heere (Theodora Krc), Bryan, TX; Arlene (Donald) Eslinger, Minot; grandchildren: John Heere, Nicole Martinez, Ian Andruchuk, Mike Eslinger and Jason Eslinger; great-grandchildren: O'Malley Eslinger, Caelton Eslinger, Niko Martinez and Kai Martinez and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Carl Sateran, Olga Jacobson, Selma Weber, Inga Edwards Ross and Orville Sateran.

Celebration of the Life of Lena Heere: Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Cornerstone Presbyterian Church - Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Shriner's Children's Hospital in Minneapolis.
