Lee Alan Randall, 30, rural Minot died on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at his home.
Lee was born on April 7, 1980 in Minot, ND to Rick and Sherry (Mathis) Randall. He was raised in the Minot area and attended Bell and Sawyer schools. He graduated from Minot High School in 1998. While attending Minot High School, Lee was a member of the varsity basketball team and played in a fashion few had ever seen. He attended North Dakota State University in Fargo for four years where he received an advanced education in zoology.
Lee thought of himself as a "Renaissance Man" who was constantly searching for knowledge.
If you knew Lee, you knew his natural ability to light up a room with his smile and his ability to open one's mind in unexpected ways. He had a free spirit and a passion for travel with trips to Brazil and Thailand being his favorites. He especially enjoyed permaculture, woodworking, reading, and all mediums of art.
Lee's loving family includes his mother: Sherry (Marty) Trett of Minot; father: Rick (JoAnn) Randall of Minot; brothers: Ryan Randall (Thais Nicolau) of Denver, CO and Brady Randall of Minot; stepsisters: Leah (Troy) Hagen of Moorhead, MN and Heather Trett of Fargo; stepbrothers: Troy Sauber of Minot and Travis Sauber of Bozeman, MT; nephews: Hudson and Henry Hagen; grandmothers: Avis Mathis of Minot and Kathlyn Kaye of Bismarck; great grandmother: Marcella Johnson of Minot; aunts and uncles: Ronda (Jim) Bogan of Houghton, MI, Michael Mathis (Lori Hanson), Mindee (Dave) Kohlman of Minot, Nicki Randall of Minneapolis, MN and Alan Randall of San Diego, CA, cousins: Brittany and Brianna Bogan of Houghton, MI; Amanda, Aaron and Amee Kohlman of Minot; Dustin and Cody Randall of Bismarck and numerous great aunts, great uncles and cousins.
Lee was preceded in death by his grandfathers: R.E. "Jake" Mathis, Bob Hanson and uncle, Randy Mathis.
A Celebration of Lee's Life will be on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in Vincent United Methodist Church Minot.
Visitation: Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home Minot.
Memorials: In lieu of plants and flowers please plant a tree in Lee's memory.
