L.C. Glover, age 75, resident of Jackson, Tennessee, United States Air Force Veteran and husband of Polly Cook Glover, departed this life Friday afternoon, December 19, 2014 at the Trinity Hospital in Minot, North Dakota.
Mr. Glover was born September 3, 1939 in Somerville to Laymon Cleven Glover, Sr. and Fannie Polk Morris Glover. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a graduate of Fayette County High School Class of 1957. He served his country in the United States Air Force as a young person. He was married July 14, 1978 to the former Ethel Pauline (Polly) Cook.
Mr. Glover was a former resident of Bolivar, Tennessee and Dickson, Tennessee before moving to Jackson, Tennessee. He was employed as a route salesman for Colonial Bread for over 30 years before his retirement. He helped open the Sonic Drive-In at Dickson in 1979 and also served as a bus driver for Jackson-Madison County Schools for 12 years before retiring in 1997. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed sightseeing, traveling, tinkering with his old truck and working.
Mr. Glover is survived by his wife of 36 years; daughter, Tina Ray of Medina, TN; two sons, Larry Glover (Molly) of Piedmont, SC, and Captain Robert Glover of Minot, ND; four sisters, Louise Morgan of Somerville, Lois Sitler of Atlantic Beach, FL, Patricia Biebers (Gaylon) of Dallas, GA, Joyce Gordan of Memphis, TN; four brothers, James "Jimmy" Glover (Yvonne) of Memphis, TN, Robert "Bobby" Glover (Pat) of Somerville, Harold "Tommy" Glover of Somerville, Herbert Glover (Pat) of Bartlett; five grandchildren, Kenny Ward, Rebbeca Glover, Austin Elder, Larry Glover, Jr., Robert Glover; and one great grandson, Bryson Ward.
Mr. Glover was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, David Glover.
Funeral Service: Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. (1:00 p.m. Central) in Peebles West Funeral Chapel, Oakland, Tennessee.
Internment: Somerville City Cemetery, Somerville, Tennessee.
Visitation: Friday, December 26, 2014 from 6:00 8:00 p.m. (5:00 7:00 p.m. Central) in Peebles West Funeral Chapel.
