Lawrence D. Miller, 76, Minot, formerly of Kearney, NE died Saturday, October 29, 2022 in his home.

Lawrence was born February 26, 1946 in Kearney, NE to Tony and Ruth (Knox) Miller. He was raised and educated in Kearney, graduating with the class of 1964 from Kearney High School.

Lawrence enlisted into the US Air Force in 1966, serving honorably until his discharge from active duty in 1970, while stationed at the Minot AFB in ND.

Lawrence was united in marriage to Sally Sharp on August 1, 1970, in Mandan, ND.  They lived in Kearney, NE the first two years of their marriage until moving to Hastings, NE while Lawrence attended technical college there focused on training to become a mechanic.

They moved to Minot in 1974. Lawrence joined the North Dakota Army National Guard serving as  a reserve until 1996.

Lawrence worked as a mechanic for Nielsen Stewart until starting as a heavy equipment mechanic back on the civilian side of the Minot Air Force Base for 30 years. He semi-retired in 2001, when he took a job in the maintenance department at the Fairgrounds in Minot followed by a position at Terhorst MFG, working as a machine operator for the next decade of his life.

Lawrence was an avid outdoorsman.  He enjoyed deer hunting and chasing roosters every fall during his active years after a full summer of camping and fishing with family often at Lake Sakakawea.

He will be deeply missed by all blessed to share in his life, but most by those who knew him as a husband, father and brother.

Lawrence is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sally, Minot; son Bradley (Alison Anderson) Fargo, ND; sisters Virginia (Joe) Brayton, Kearney, NE and Patricia (Wilbur) Baldwin, Mitchell, SD; sister-in-law Rosemary Young Sharp, Surprise, AZ along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Frances Hancock and Marlene Trump and brothers-in-law Everett Myers, Fritz Trump and Ken Sharp.

A family graveside service will be held at the ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND
