Laurene "Renie" L. Rostberg Thomas, 62, Minot, died Wednesday, February 10, 2010, in a Minot hospital.

Laurene was born July 1, 1947 in Grand Forks, ND, to Benard and Louise (Lokken) Rostberg. She was raised and educated in Minot, where she graduated from Minot High School in 1965.

Renie worked at Ellison's department store in Minot as a clerk in addition to modeling for them on many occasions. She moved to Denver in 1978, where she gained employment at Martin Marrieta Corporation. Renie returned to Minot where she continued to be active in the community.

Renie was a member of First Lutheran Church of Minot. She loved cooking special dishes, gardening, decorating, working with stained glass, dressing up and playing bingo. She was kind to people who needed it, whether it was a physical or mental need. She will be deeply missed by all who shared in her life.

Surviving family includes: Children, Keirsten Thomas, Bismarck , ND, and Edward Thomas, Grand Rapids, MI; Grandchildren, Kylie and Kolton Wilson and Tuker and Tristen Tokach; Sister, Laural Anderson, Denver, CO, Nieces Terra Hammon and Kari Fritz, Nephew John Kimmey, and Mother, Louise Rostberg, Minot, ND.

Renie was preceded in death by her father, husband and special friend, Roger Solberg.

Funeral service: Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. First Lutheran Church in Minot, ND.
Visitation: Monday, February 15, 2010, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
