Laura Edna Kenny, 91, Minot, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Minot.

Laura was born January 20, 1920 on the family farm near Glenburn, ND the daughter of Jacob and Louise (Rosenau) Adams. She lived there a short time until the family moved to Minot. She graduated from Minot High School in 1938 and worked for a time at the Empire Theater. Laura was a telephone operator with the NW Bell Telephone Company during her younger years.

Laura was united in marriage to Gar Kenny on March 8, 1959 at St. Paul\'s Lutheran Church Minot, ND. They made their home in Riverdale, Donnybrook, Bismarck, Underwood, and Minot while Gar was employed with the Soo Line Railroad. Laura gave birth to her son, Rodney Bruce Kenny in 1963 and was a loving wife and mother. Laura\'s family Includes: son, Rodney Kenny and his wife, Anna, Minot; grandchildren Ariel Piispanen and Ian Kenny, step-grandchildren, Aubreeana and Jordan Drovdal, sister, Lila (Ben) Tollefson, Minot; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Laura was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Minot, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir and was active with the LWML. She enjoyed reading, doing word searches, embroidery work and traveling with Gar. She will be missed tremendously by all.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Arthur and Clarence Adams, and sisters, Gertrude Kunka and Amalia Peterka.

Funeral service : Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul\'s Lutheran Church, ND.
Interment : Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation : Friday, December 9, 2011 from 2:00-7:00 in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to St. Paul\'s Lutheran Church, Minot.
