Larry Allan Nermyr, 89, Minot, formerly of Newburg, died Friday, January 30, 2026, in a Minot hospital.

Larry was born July 4, 1936, in Westhope, ND, the son of Arnold and Mary Helen (McHaney) Nermyr. He was raised and educated in Newburg, graduating in 1954.

Larry entered the U.S. Army on February 4, 1960, and was assigned to the 68th Signal Company at Fort Hauchuca, Arizona where he was an Electronic Counter-Measure Specialist. He was honorably discharged on April 3, 1962.

Larry continued his education at North Dakota State University graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked in the Oil and Gas industry, mainly in Texas and Indonesia until he retired due to ill health and moved to Minot to be nearer family.

Larry is survived by his brothers Glenn (Luella), Minot and Paul, Glendive, MT, sisters Laurel Marsh and Marie Ystaas, both of Bismarck and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Shirley and Dale.

A private graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
