Larry Kantrude, 63, Minot, died on Thursday, May 24, 2007, in a Minot hospital.

Larry was born February 27, 1944, in Minot, ND, the son of George and Gladys (Thoreson) Kantrude. He was raised and educated in Minot.

Larry began employment for Burlington Northern Railroad on September 21, 1966 holding various positions most recently as a crew clerk until he retired. In addition to his employment with the railroad, Larry also worked at Northern Marble, assisting in various large projects including the bar top at the Rockin' Horse, formerly known as Friday's.

Larry had a deep love for motorcycles and classic cars, which he displayed by owning various models including, Corvettes, El Camino's, and Volkswagens. He will be deeply missed by all who shared in his life.

Surviving family includes: Children: Kari (Jim) Clark - Bayonne, NJ, Todd Kantrude - Minot, ND, and Lisa Kantrude, Fargo, ND; Grandchildren: Zachary Kantrude and James and Sean Clark; Sister: Gayle Anderson, Las Vegas, NV; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in Hjerdal Lutheran Church, Voltaire, ND;
Interment: Hjerdal Lutheran Church Cemetery, Voltaire, ND;
Visitation: Monday, May 28, 2007 from noon - 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials: Memorials are preferred to the Hjerdal Lutheran Church, Voltaire, ND.
