Kristy Barr, 46, Minot formerly of Iowa, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at her residence.

Kristy was born on May 6, 1969 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Clarence and Diane (Boege) Pope. She was reared in Avoca, Iowa and attended Avoca High School. Later, she earned her GED. Kristy was a graduate of the Headquarters Academy of Hair Design in Minot and for a time operated her own hair salon.

On December 31, 1997, she was united in marriage to Allen Barr in Minot.

Kristy is survived by her husband, Allen Barr, Minot; mother Diane Pope, Avoca, IA; sisters Patricia Pope of Avoca, IA and Nicole (Keith) Assmann of CO, brother Neil (Patricia) Pope of Avoca, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Avoca, IA. Visitation is from 5-6:30 p.m. on Sunday July 5, 2015 in Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Avoca, IA. Burial is at Graceland Cemetery in Avoca, IA. Local arrangements provided by Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
