Kila Krebsbach Geary , 58, Minot died on July 3, 2023 in a Minot hospital from heart failure.  Her family was at her side.

Kila Kae Krebsbach was born on March 31, 1965 in Minot, ND to Paul and Karen (Lysne) Krebsbach. She was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1983. She continued her education at the University of Iowa where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Musical Performance. She received her Master's Degree in Music from Baylor University - Waco TX and had also received a degree in addiction counseling while living in St. Paul, MN. Kila was once married to Daniel J. Geary. Kila was employed as an Addiction Counselor in St. Paul and later by MLT Vacations -Minot.

While in high school, Kila was involved in various musical comedies. In college, she performed many operatic roles while attending the University of Iowa and Baylor University. Kila's operatic achievements took her to Europe to perform with the University of Iowa Katorie, the Classical Music Festival-Eisenstaedt, Baylor in Vienna and several performances with Western Plains Opera, Minot State University.

Kila especially enjoyed all forms of music, but had a passion for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Her first music love was Dean Martin. Her other hobbies included jewelry-making and collecting rocks, she loved collecting rocks. She always looked for the beauty in nature and she said you could always find the shape of a heart in a rock.

Kila's loving family includes her daughter: Taryn Geary of Minot, mother: Karen Krebsbach of Minot, brother: Reo (Brenda) Krebsbach of Peoria AZ, nieces and nephew: Alexis, Jakob and Grace Krebsbach and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father: Paul Krebsbach.

Funeral Service: Monday, July 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in First Lutheran Church – Minot.  To view a livestream of the service access www.firstlutheran.tv
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park – Minot.
Visitation: Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home – Minot.
Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church or the Minot State University Music Department.
