Kevin John Neperud, 52, Minot, formerly of Surrey, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Kevin was born May 9, 1961 in Minot, ND to Jerome and Joanne (Deaver) Neperud. He was reared in Minot until the family moved to Surrey. He was educated in Minot and Surrey and graduated from Surrey High School in 1980. Prior to graduation, he served as the Surrey Mustangs basketball and baseball teams student manager and represented his school at the "Know Your State" Competition in Grand Forks.
Kevin graduated from Minot State College in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.
Kevin made his home in Surrey from 1971 to 2009 when he moved to Minot.
Kevin was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Timberwolves on television. He was especially proud of his nephews' academic achievements and followed their success on the Minot High School Magicians basketball teams. He also enjoyed studying politics and reading at the Minot Public Library.
Kevin's loving family includes his mother, Joanne Neperud, Minot; sister, Lisa (Terry) Mock, Lake Metigoshe, ND, brother, Steve (Tara) Neperud, Charlotte, N.C.; nephews and nieces, Nick (Ashley) Mock and Jacob Mock, all of Minot, Tommy Neperud and Ashley Neperud, both of Charlotte, NC.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Jerome; grandparents, Gladys VanDenheuvel and John and Olga Neperud.
Kevin faced his illness with bravery and dignity. We are very proud of him and we are extremely grateful to have shared in his life. We know he is in heaven and is watching over us as a loving son, awesome brother and proud uncle.

: Friday, August 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment:
Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation:
One hour prior to the service in the church.
Memorials
are preferred to Bethany Lutheran Church or Trinity Cancer Care Center, both of Minot.
