Obituary

Kenneth O. Parge, 73, of Rugby, was called to join our Lord on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, in a Spokane, WA hospital. at 11:30 p.m. He died at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Wash. He was with his son, Jason, and daughter in-law, Teresa, when he was hospitalized two days before Christmas.

He was born July 18, 1937, to Robert and Irene (Lee) Parge at Trinity Hospital in Minot. He graduated from Minot High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1957. He returned to Minot after the Army where he married Norma Kathleen Strand. They had two boys: Todd and Jason.

Dad was a wholesale rep for the SCM Corp Glidden Paint Division for 12 years. He attended Eastern Montana College while we were in Billings. In 1970 we moved to Missoula and built and opened the first McDonald\'s Restaurant in Missoula.

The couple divorced in 1978. He lived, worked and retired in Rugby while commuting on a regular basis back to Minot to help care for his elderly parents. His mother still resides in Minot and turned 95 on Christmas Eve.

Besides his family, he leaves behind lots of friends from coast to coast. To them "Kenny" was a real gentleman who will be truly missed.

Survivors include his sister, Jean Janssen, Santa Maria, CA; sons, Todd (Shelly) Parge, Missoula, MT and Jason (Teresa) Parge, Spokane, WA; grandson, Army Specialist Robert Todd (Kelci) Parge, Horizon City, Texas; step-grandchildren, John Kelly, Billings, MT, Tempest (Matt) James, of Lolo, MT, Ty Guse, Missoula, MT, Noelle Goulet, Spokane, WA and Josh Goulet, of Polson, MT; nephews, Steve Janssen, Santa Maria, CA, and Wade (Michelle) Janssen, Chesterton, IN.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Parge, and brother in-law, Immanual Janssen.

A joint funeral service will be held on Thursday, February, 17, 2011, at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Minot.
Interment : Rosehill Memorial Park
Visitation : Wednesday, February 16, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home of Minot.
Memorials : Memorials are preferred to St. Paul's Lutheran Church LWML, LLL or to an organization of the donor's choice.
