Kenneth "Ken" L. Flory Sr ., 72, 4205 42nd Street S.E. Minot, died Friday, December 8, 2006 in a Minot Hospital.

Ken was born April 15, 1934 at Minot, North Dakota, the son of Orville and Myrtle (Putney) Flory. He was raised and educated in Minot and during his younger years worked at various jobs until becoming employed with the Great Northern Railroad.

Ken entered into active duty service in 1952 with the U.S. Army and served his country in Korea until he was honorably discharged in 1956. He returned to Minot and continued his employment with the Great Northern (now Burlington Northern Railroad) for seventeen years. Ken had also worked various construction jobs in the area, until he was forced to retire in 1989 due to a work related disability. He was once married to Carol Vannett.

Ken enjoyed fishing, reading and spending time with his dogs, Rascal and Patches.

His loving family includes : Children: Kenneth Jr. (Cari) Flory, Minot, Kara Lynn (Walter) Peters, Minot, Kimberly Flory, Minot, Kandis (Tim) Gilmore, Minot, Kirk (Linda) Flory, Bismarck and Kory (Tara) Flory; Fourteen Grandchildren and Four Great-Grandchildren; Sister: Beverly Parsons, California; Brothers: Clinton Flory, SD, and Dale (Irene) Flory of Minot.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: James, Richard and Gordon Flory.

Service: Private family service will be held at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Visitation : There will be no reviewal; however friends may sign a memorial register book, on Sunday, December 10, 2006, from noon until 5:00 p.m., in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
