Kenneth L. Anderson, 80, 2405 2nd Ave. N.W. - Minot and formerly of Tagus died on Saturday, December 24, 2011 in a Minot healthcare center.

Kenneth was born in Plaza, North Dakota to Henry and Myrtle (Lien) Anderson. He was reared and educated in the Tagus and Blaisdell areas. As a young adult he entered the U.S. Army and served in Germany prior to his honorable discharge. He returned to North Dakota and married Marlene Haugen of Coulee on September 10, 1966 at Augustana Lutheran Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot where he was employed at the North Broadway Westland Oil Gas Station, Mitchell Hardware, Westlie Motors and Northern Brake as a mechanic. Marlene has been employed at Penney's Department Store for the past 52 years. Ill health forced him to retire during the early 1990's.

Kenneth was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge both in Minot. He especially enjoyed cars, yardwork and music and taught himself to play the accordion.

Kennth is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Marlene; daughter: Melissa Anderson of Rugby; sister: Janice Hagen of Minot; brother: Arlie (Lorraine) Anderson of Los Olivas CA and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Marvin Anderson, brother-in-law, LeRoy Hagen and niece: Debbie Anderson.

Funeral Service: Friday, December 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mark's Lutheran Church - Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society, St. Mark's Lutheran Church or Trinity Hospice.
