Keith was born January 18, 1938 in Minot, ND to Vernon and Maren (Anderson) White. He graduated from Minot High School with the Class of 1956. He cherished all of his high school classmates his entire life. Keith completed his secondary schooling at Minot State University in 1974. Keith served in the ND Army National Guard from 1960-61.
Keith was united in marriage to Patricia Solberg on December 30, 1967 at First Lutheran Church in Fessenden, ND.
He held a position at Farmer's Union Elevator in the early 60's until he was named as Assistant Recreation Director in March of 1968. After a decade of service to the community, Keith became the Director of the Minot Recreation on July 1, 1977. He added to the list of his duties in 1980, when he was named Minot Auditorium Manager. During his tenure, he brought in and managed eleven national softball tournaments, several Prairie Rose State Games, and decades worth of state amateur basketball tournaments. Keith was proud of the t-ball program he started and always offered youth programs at no cost so all could participate. He raised money for countless events to benefit his beloved Magic City that included the Jack Hoeven Ball Park and Sertoma Sports Complex, which was later renamed the Keith White Sertoma Sports Complex for all to enjoy. He retired on his birthday in 2006 after 38 years of service to the community.
Keith loved his community with his whole heart and served without hesitation. He was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Sertoma Club, Beaver Boosters of Minot State, Moose Club, Elks Lodge, Eagles Aerie, the Minot American Legion Post #26 and served as manager of the Farmer's Union Fastpitch Softball team from 1957 – 1970.
Keith was honored as an inductee into the ND Softball Hall of Fame in 1997, the ND State Amateur Basketball Hall of Fame in 1998, and the Minot Baseball Hall of Fame in 2020. He was a recipient of the Minot Tournament Committee Award in 2014. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and past season ticket holder and compromised many family gatherings at the lake to catch a Minnesota Twins game on the radio, even if it meant running the car battery dead.
Keith will be missed by all who were blessed to share in his life but his legacy of service to his community will stand the test of time.
Keith is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia 'Pat' White, Minot; daughters Lisa (Todd) Haskins and Kara (Matt) Pfau, both of Minot; grandchildren Trail, Tate and Tia Haskins and Porter Pfau; sister Kay (Dale) Mattern, Minot; sister-in-law Connie (Gerry) Krueger, The Villages, FL along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Maren Beth, sister Susan Hager and her husband Dan and his mother and father-in-law, Mac and Evelyn Solberg.
