Obituary

Kathryn Jean "Kae" Amrein, a longtime resident of the Glenburn area and Minot, passed away to her heavenly place on November 13, 2013 in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Paul, in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Kae was born on December 13, 1923 on the family farm in Waterford Township of Ward County to Thomas and Ida Loretta (Barrett) Wilson. She was reared on the family farm and educated in a country elementary school, Minot High School, and graduated from Glenburn High School in 1942. She received her teachers\' certificate from Minot State College and taught elementary school during World War II.

Kae married Chester "Chet" Amrein on January 30, 1944 in Lynch Immanuel Lutheran Church near Glenburn. They made their home on their farm near Glenburn. They raised four children and farmed small grains and hay until their retirement in 1993 when their son Rick assumed control of the farm and they moved to Minot. They spent many winters in Newbury Park, California. Chet passed away on August 29, 1997. Kae continued to reside in Minot until she moved to Minden, Nevada to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Paul, in 2009 and then to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 2012.

Kae was a member of Lynch Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Glenburn, Moose Lodge in Minot and Merry Farmerettes Homemakers Club rural Glenburn. Kae loved music and you could often find her playing the piano or accordion with her country band "The Dakotans". Kae also served as Bailiff of the District Court in Minot, cashier at the Moose Lodge in Minot, and finally Foster Grandparent to the children at Edison Elementary in Minot.

Kae\'s loving family includes her children: Linda Jo (Paul) Williams of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Rickey Jene Amrein rural Glenburn, LaRae Jill Amrein of Reno, Nevada and Dalen (Sharon) Nelson of Minot; grandchildren: Kristine Wilkinson, Sean and MaxWell Amrein, Anthony Luberto, Corben Etteldorf, Jennifer Norris, Ryan Williams, Lolly Gorze, Lynae Voeller, Taletta Larson; twenty-one great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; sister: Isabelle Stromberg of Minot; sister-in-law: Mabel Hoiland of Minot and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kae was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Redgie, grandchildren, Shannon Amrein and Michael Scott Mudd; brothers: Allen LeRoy and Thomas Hugh Wilson; and sister: Dorothy Baker.

Visitation : Friday, November 22, 2013 from 2:00p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home in Minot.
Funeral Service : Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Lynch Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Glenburn.
Interment : Fairview Cemetery in Glenburn.
Fellowship: will follow at Lynch Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Memorials: are preferred to the Edison Elementary School in loving memory of "Grandma Kae\'s Library Fund"- 701 17th Avenue SW, Minot, ND 58701.
