Karla J. Ganje , 50, Minot, died Thursday, March 16, 2023, in St. Paul, MN.

Karla was born April 30, 1972, in Minot, ND to Bernard 'Ben' and Bonnie (Ryyth) Ganje. She was raised in the North Dakota communities of Norwich and Deering between the Ganje and Lanny Johnson households.

Karla was once united in marriage to John Little. They made their home in Mississippi after his discharge from the US Air Force Base in Minot.

Karla moved to Denver, CO in the mid 90's, where she obtained her GED. She completed training as a medical assistant and worked in a number of clinics in the Denver area for the next 15 years.

Karla returned to Minot in 2010 and started working for the Dollar Market in Minot as a clerk. She continued her employment as a clerk going to work for Marketplace Express after the closing of the market. Karla battled MS throughout her life, and it forced an early retirement.

Karla enjoyed time spent fishing with family and friends. She was a great cook, and her sense of humor was undeniable. She will be remembered for her warm and loving heart, putting everyone before herself, no matter the many hardships or setbacks she faced. Karla was a 'hero' to many in her life who brought the sunshine with her smile and laugh.  She will be missed by all who were blessed to share in her life.

Karla is survived by her father Bernard Ganje, Minot; siblings Lisa Ganje, Deering, Karen Swenson, Minot, Jennifer Ganje, Denver, CO and Kevin (Erica) Johnson, Towner, ND; maternal grandfather Rudy Ryyth, Langdon, ND; nieces Angie Benton, Abby Swenson, Harley Swenson, Norah Johnson and Rylie Johnson; nephew Zander Swenson; companion William 'Al' Kraft, Minot/Deering, ND; numerous aunts and uncles, many cousins and her cat 'Fancy.'

Karla was preceded in death by her mother Bonnie Johnson, grandparents Betty Ryyth and John B. and Ann Ganje, and a nephew Alec Benton.

Memorial Gathering of Family and Friends: Friday, March 31, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
