June G. Tweten, 77, Minot, died Monday, July 31, 2006 in Minot.
June Sutter was born June 14, 1929, in Redvers, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Christian and Amelia (Duke) Sutter. She was raised and educated in Redvers, graduating from high school in 1947. June received her nurse's training at Winnipeg General Hospital, earning her registered nursing degree in 1951.
June moved to Minot in 1952. She began her nursing career at St. Joseph's Hospital. June was united in marriage to Leslie R. Tweten on June 5, 1953 in Redvers, SK. This union would be blessed with four sons, Gerald, David, Randy, and Scott. They made their home in Minot.
Following her employment at the hospital, June worked as an office nurse for Dr. W.B. Huntley from 1967 until 1981. She finished her 40 year career as a registered nurse, serving as a supervisor at Trinity Nursing Home from 1981 until her retirement in 1993. Leslie died in 1991.
June stayed active in her retirement years by volunteering at the Adult Learning Center in Minot. She was a member of the Nurses Alumni-Winnipeg General Hospital/Health Sciences Center. June enjoyed reading, laughing, knitting, and gardening, sharing the fruits of her labor from her garden. With each son is a granddaughter with whom she loved spending time with, making them a very important part of her life. She will be deeply missed by all those who loved and shared in her life.
Surviving family includes: Sons: Gerald (LouAnne, daughter Amy) Tweten, Glendive, MT; David (Pamela, daughter Valerie) Tweten, Minot, ND; Randy Tweten (daughter Abigail), La Grande, OR; and Scott (Patricia, daughter Amelia) Tweten, San Anselmo, CA; Sister: Caroline Bright, Minnedosa, Manitoba, Canada; Brothers: Chris (Vera) Sutter, Redvers, Saskatchewan, Canada and Morley Sutter, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
June was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Vera Anderson, and brother Ben Sutter.
Funeral Service:
At the request of the family, a service will be held at a later date.

Memorials are preferred to Salvation Army, Red Cross, and the Adult Learning Center of Minot.
