Obituary

June E. Braff , 82, Minot, died Saturday, December 15, 2012 in a Bismarck hospital.

June was born June 30, 1930, in Cass Lake, MN, the daughter of Charles and Linda (Lofstrom) Braff. She was educated in Cass Lake, graduating high school as the valedictorian of her class in 1948. She moved to Minot and continued her education at Minot Business College.

June became the secretary for the local chapter of the Boy Scouts in October of 1949. She worked in the office as a dedicated secretary for the next 43 years until her retirement in July 1992.

June was extremely devoted and loyal to her family members in ND. Her sister Gladys and her children, John, Charles and Eileen lived with her for a number of years in SE Minot.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot. She enjoyed spending time with family, listening to classical music, reading and was known to spend time in the garden. A baseball fan, June cheered on the hometown Minot Mallards and the Minnesota Twins. She will be missed by all who shared in her life.

Her loving family includes a sister, Clara Mae Hartung, Crosby, MN; many nephews including, John (Barb) Van Grinsven, Minot and Charles (Diane) Van Grinsven, Forest City Iowa; many nieces including, Eileen (Keith) Jacobson, Spokane, Wash; many great-nieces and nephews including, Michael Van Grinsven, David Van Grinsven, Jeffrey Van Grinsven, Cynthia Van Grinsven, Bryan Van Grinsven, Travis Van Grinsven and Marcus Van Grinsven, Monica (Cal Lundgren) Porterfield, James Jacobson and Theodore Jacobson; many great-great nieces and nephews including, Lief, Jansen and Elle Van Grinsven, Brittany, Emily, Melissa and Alexis Van Grinsven, Brook and Madison Van Grinsven, Dayton and Madesyn Porterfield and Levi and Samuel Lundgren.

June was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Ardale Lausche and Gladys Van Grinsven, brothers, Harry, Virgil, Morlan, Loren and Laurel Braff.

Funeral service: 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2012 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Norwich Lutheran Church Cemetery, Norwich, ND in the spring.
Visitation: Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the local chapter of the Boy Scouts of America.
