IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julie
Dietrich
November 24, 1956 – October 19, 2023
Julie Dietrich , 66, Minot, died Thursday, October 19, 2023, in a Grand Forks hospital, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Julie was born November 24, 1956, in Harvey, North Dakota to John and Norma (Flatlie) Dietrich. She was raised and educated in Minot, where she attended Minot High School.
Julie spent her early years in the food industry in various roles. The experiences increased her desire to become a food vendor. She spent several years at the Sturgis Rallies and other locations around the area. She enjoyed making many different foods but was exceptional at baking pies. During the holidays she would make pies for her family and close friend Dave whom she adored.
Another of her favorite adventures for vacations was Las Vagas. She enjoyed the food, entertainment, buffets, shopping, and spontaneous exploration of the city. She loved being around people, caring for others, and Elvis Presley! Julie spent many years in attendance at Graceland for Elvis Presley's birthday. If she were not in there in person, she would start each holiday season by lighting her white Christmas tree on Elvis's birthday. She was Elvis Presley's number one fan! Julie had a love for all animals including cats, which were a big part of her life.
Julie worked for St. Joseph's and later Trinity Hospital in the Environmental Services Department and over the last several years at Walmart. She enjoyed her daily interactions with co-workers, visitors, and customers. Gardening was one of her favorite things and she was definitely blessed with a green thumb. She will be missed most by those who called her mom and grandma. Julie will be remembered always in the stories and memories we all have of her. Julie was kind to most, a little too trusting sometimes, independent and a bit strong willed. She was blessed with two children, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
Julie is survived by her children Dan Maroney, Minot and Terri (Chad) Fenner, Minot; grandchildren Daniel Maroney III, Minot, Kristine (Levi) Goettle, Donnybrook, ND, Taylor (Lacey) Stenvold, Surrey, ND, Abigail Carlson, Minot, Essien Delker, Minot and Zachary Fenner, Kansas City, KS; great-grandchildren Mylee, Hadlee, Lillee, Paesley, Parker and Paislee; sisters Betty (Norman) Haux, Grand Forks, ND and LeeAnn Dietrich, North Carolina along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Julie was preceded by parents, special family friend Clarence Ryba, grandsons Michael and Nicholis Fenner and brother Jerry Dietrich.
