Obituary

Julie Renae Christenson, 42, Sawyer, formerly of Deering, died Thursday, July 30, 2015 in a Minot Hospital from an apparent heart attack.

Julie was born June 4, 1973 at Minot, North Dakota the daughter of Loren and Sandra (Haskins) Christenson. She attended schools at Deering and Surrey. Throughout the years, she was employed at the Country Store & Caf in Deering, Hilltop Bar in Sawyer, Greenhouse Caf in Minot, Corner Caf in Sawyer and most recently at the Mint Bar in Velva as the manager for the past 9 years.

Family was important to Julie. She was blessed with two sons, Colby Dennis in 1999 and Brayden Scott in 2003. They were the love of her life. Together they enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. Julie was a faithful fan of the Denver Broncos. In her spare time she enjoyed a trip to the casino. She had a passion for cooking and especially enjoyed cooking for the holidays. She always made a big production of these events for family and friends. She had an infectious smile and a hearty laugh. She was known for always putting others first before her own interests.

Julie leaves behind her sons, Colby and Brayden; parents, Loren and Sandra Christenson, rural Surrey; brother, Jason Christenson of Sawyer; nephew, Keagan and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Julie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Melbourne & Alma Christenson; Howard & Lillian Haskins.

Funeral service : Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in First Church of the Nazarene, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation : Monday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family prefers memorials.
