Obituary

Julia H. Pals, 91, Minot, died Monday, September 14, 2009, in a Minot nursing home.

Julia was born October 1, 1917, in Rugby, ND the daughter of George and Blanche (Fayette) Srur. She was raised and received her formal education in Rugby.

Julia was united in marriage to Robert Pals on January 1, 1943 in Minot, ND. They made their home in Minot, where Julia worked as a cook/baker for the Elk's Lodge and Ellison's Cafeteria for many years in addition to caring for her family.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxiliary and a past member of the Moose and Elks Lodges, all of Minot.

Julia enjoyed playing pinochle, canasta, and was always ready for a game of bingo. She had a heart of gold that was shared with many people. Her passion for cooking and baking opened the door to many friendships and bound many families throughout the years. She will be deeply missed by all who shared in her life.

Surviving family includes: Daughter: Jeanne Bauer, Minot; Son: Richard (Hallie) Pals, Kansas City, MO; Grandchildren: Sean Bauer, Jason (Jennifer) Pals, Danielle (Jason) Petty, and Courtney and Emily Pals; Great-Grandchildren: Abbigayle Pals and Jenda Petty; good friends: Maria (Ron) Bigelow, Minot and Germain Boechler, Karlsruhe, ND and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert, sisters, Alma Esta, Mary Farris, Vicki Bangerter, and Hazel Geisinger, and brothers, Jimmy, Albert, Philip, Raymond, and Charles Srur.

Funeral: Thursday, September 17, 2009, at 2:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment:
Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND.
Visitation:
Wednesday, September 16, 2009, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
