Judy A. (Marquart) Sperle , 58, Napoleon, ND, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012 in her home.

Judith Ann Marquart was born on November 17, 1953 in Bismarck, ND to Felix and Gladys (Geist) Marquart. She was raised on the family farm north of Napoleon. Judy attended parochial school and graduated from Napoleon High School in 1972.

Judy was once married to Michael Sperle in April 1973. This union was blessed with five beautiful children. She worked at the Napoleon High School for 26 years as a secretary in addition to managing John\'s Korner Bar for many years. Judy had various other jobs through the years, most of them nurturing her passion for cooking. She was currently employed by Del\'s Super Valu, which gave her the opportunity to showcase her culinary skills as well as catering for many other occasions. Judy served as mayor of Napoleon for many years, using her clever wit and matter of fact attitude to help make decisions.

Cooking was a passion of Judy's and she took great delight in having her children try all of her new creations. Many have enjoyed and will not forget her famous potato salad, cucumber salad and knoephla soup. Judy was very proud of every one of her children. She loved to spend time with her grandkids and always had a smile and gleam in her eye when she could spoil them with everything their parents had said they couldn\'t do or have.

We will miss you mom, grandma, daughter, sister and friend. We will love and cherish you always.

Judy's loving family includes, children, Chris (Jamie) Sperle, Napoleon, Shawn Sperle, Fargo, Stephanie (Darin) Finck, Jamestown, Shelly (Mike) Swanson, Bismarck, and Allison (Mark) Roth, Minot; grandchildren, Kayden & Kendall Sperle and Dylan Bitz, Jared and Jordan Finck, Gunner, Gannon, and Grady Swanson, Kyley and Madison Lauf, Lincoln Roth, Justin and Samantha Lauf and great-grandson, Bo Banks; mother, Gladys Marquart, Napoleon; siblings, Colleen (Al) Vosburg, Bozeman, MT, Charlotte (Don) Schuld, Stillwater, MN, Rick (Dawne) Marquart, Napoleon, ND and Debbie Marquart, Ames, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Judy was preceded in death by her father, Felix, son-in-law, Brent Lauf, and grandparents, John and Lydia Geist and Joseph and Barbara Marquart.

Public Prayer Service: 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2012 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon, ND
Interment: St. Philip Catholic Church Cemetery, Napoleon, ND
At Judy's request, there will be no reviewal, however family and friends are invited to sign the memorial register book and share memories following the prayer service on Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon, ND.
