Juanita Sennett , 74, Minot, died Monday, June 04, 2018 in a Minot hospital.
Juanita was born May 28, 1944, in Belcourt, North Dakota to John and Blanche (Poitra) Lucier. She was educated in Marty, SD until returning to Minot to complete her education at Minot Public Schools attending Lincoln, Edison and Minot Central Campus. She graduated from Minot Central Campus in 1962.
Juanita met the love of her life on a blind date at the ND State Fair in 1960. She was united in marriage to Jerry Sennett on November 24, 1962 at Little Flower Catholic Church in Minot. They made the community of Minot their lifelong home and were blessed with a large family.
Juanita cared for her growing family and once all the kids were in school, she followed them. She spent the next thirty-four years of her life serving Washington School as a recess volunteer and later moved into a role as the cashier for lunch. She also coached every sport that ended in ball throughout the years for the Washington Patriots and always provided the Indian Tacos for fun night at the school. In her spare time, Juanita also provided daycare out of her home for friends and neighbors that were in need for many years.
She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and she was very strong in her faith. Juanita participated in bowling and softball leagues during her active years. Juanita was a wonderful cook who loved to bake and host Sunday dinners for her family. Family and friends were always welcome to stop in and enjoy Juanita's cooking. Throughout the years Juanita enjoyed attending craft shows. She also enjoyed crafting and shared items she made with her family.
Juanita's family was the center of her life and she was their rock. She treasured time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Another thing that Juanita enjoyed with the family was attending pow-wows. This was Juanita's way of teaching her children about her Native American heritage. She was very proud to see her grandchildren and great grandchildren carry on this tradition.
She will be missed by all who shared in her precious life.
