Joyce T. Heilmann, 82, Minot, died Thursday, November 22, 2007 in a Minot Nursing Home.

Joyce was born June 13, 1925 at Plaza, North Dakota, the daughter of Joseph and Tilda (Lee) Wold. She was raised and educated at Plaza, graduating from High School there in 1943. She attended Minot State Teacher's College for two years, and received her teaching degree in Elementary Education.

She then taught school at Watford City, prior to her marriage to Edwin Heilmann on September 8, 1948. They lived at Linton for five years, and then at Williston for four years, before moving to Minot in 1957.

Joyce assisted her husband as the bookkeeper for his private detective business, and also worked at Tempo Department Store and Coast to Coast Hardware Store as the bookkeeper. She retired in 1987. Ed died October 19, 1993.

Joyce was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Minot and had served as a volunteer for several groups within the church. She was a former member of the Minot Eagles Auxiliary and Elkettes. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, traveling and spending time with her family.

Her loving family includes : Children: Jim (Sherry) Heilmann, Minot, Linda (James) Bailey, Burnsville, MN, Jane (Bill) Hall, Fargo and Larry Heilmann, Fargo; Grandchildren, Emilie and Kathryn Bailey, Rihanna (Jamie) Sundsbak, and Andy Heilmann; Great-Grandchild: Lillian Sundsbak

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband,and brother, Wendall Wold.

Funeral service: Monday, November 26, 2007 at 1:30pm in Christ Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
Visitation: Sunday from noon-5:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Christ Lutheran Church, Minot.
