Joreen Deloris Blada , 95, Minot, formerly of the Westhope and Newburg areas, died on Friday, May 10, 2024, in a Minot assisted living center.
Joreen was born September 24, 1928 at Antler, ND in Bottineau County, the daughter of Joe and Babe Merle (Dooley) Mahoney. She was raised at Kuroki and attended schools in Westhope. Following her schooling, she was united in marriage to Melvin "Bud" Blada on June 30, 1946 at St John's Lutheran Church in Upham.
They made their home on a farm near Newburg, where they raised small grains and cattle along with pigs and dairy cattle. They continued to live there until Bud's death on May 27, 2001. Joreen moved to Minot in 2005 and had moved to the Somerset Assisted Living Center in 2020.
She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Minot. In addition, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking, baking, canning, tending to her flowers and especially liked holiday gatherings and spending time with her family.
Her loving family includes, children, Jeraldine Gaule, Minot, Jerry Blada, Minot, Donald (Kyle) Blada, Rapid City, SD, Darline Peterson, Minot, JoAnn Thull, Minot, Dean (Shelley) Blada, Newburg and John (Becky) Blada, Minot; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joreen was preceded in death by: her parents, husband of nearly 55 years, Bud; sons-in-law, Gaylen Peterson and John Gaule; sisters, LaVonne and Valentine and a brother, Mike.

Wednesday, May 15th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
