John Freeman , 24, Minot formerly of Illinois, passed away April 9, 2023 in Minot.

John was born on September 9, 1998, in Woodstock, IL to Laurie Freeman and Ronnie Gable. He grew up in Antioch and Lake Villa, IL and moved with his family to Minot in 2014. He shared a deep interest in history, numerology and science. He was smart and passionate about many things in life. John enjoyed being outside in the fresh air.  He loved nature and everything beautiful that life had to offer. He loved animals from a very young age.

John joined the working world with Dollar Tree working his way up to manager and most recently worked as an event coordinator for the Clarion, both in Minot.

John was blessed with a son Atom in 2017 and was anticipating the arrival of daughter Lily at the end of this month. Family was important to John and he was a devoted friend, who was always willing to help anyone in need. He was a wonderful son, father, brother, uncle and friend and will be missed deeply by all who were blessed to share in his life.

John was a member of the Star In The West Masonic Lodge #33.

He is survived by his son Atom Freeman and daughter Lily (due to arrive at the end of April) and their mother Chyna Moolenaar, all of Minot; mother Laurie Freeman, brother Daniel Freeman and sister Corina Freeman, all of Twin Lakes, WI and nephews Leonardo Lascola and Benjamin Laycox.

John was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Albert and Ann Winter.

A private family gathering was held at the Thomas Family Funeral Home in Minot.
