Joan (Gilles) Gust, 54, Minot, died on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Trinity Medical Center in Minot surrounded by her loving family.

Joan Marie was born May 7, 1961 in Minot to J. Gordon and Doris (Barrow) Gilles. She was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Bishop Ryan High School in 1979. She began employment with North American Trailerama during high school and continued with that company, which later became known as Magic City RV, for nearly 30 years. Most recently, she had served as the parts manager for Magic City RV. Also, she had worked for a short time with North Central Heating and Air Conditioning.

Joan was united in marriage to Randy Gust on June 14, 1985. They were the proud parents of two sons, Trevor and Tanner and made their home in Minot.

Joan was a lifetime member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot, where she served as an usher and taught CCD Classes. She especially enjoyed watching her two sons play baseball and football. Joan loved life and was a very good friend to many people. She enjoyed attending wine tastings and socializing with everyone especially her friends and family. She was very artistic and loved to paint, draw, color and sketch as well as scrap booking, canning, gardening and photography. Also, she was an animal lover with several pets of her own.

Joan's loving family includes her husband of 30 years: Randy Gust of Minot, sons: Trevor and Tanner Gust, both of Minot, mother: Doris Gilles of Minot, brothers: John Gilles and his fianc, Crystal Halseth of Minot and Jerry (JoAnn) Gilles of Des Moines, IA, sister: Julie (Jeff) Magera of Rice, MN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joan was preceded in death by her father, J. Gordon Gilles, maternal grandparents: George and Eleanor Barrow and paternal grandparents: John and Lois Gilles

Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, March 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family prefers memorials.
